DIY LED Moonlights.

Everyone,

I am looking to build some Moonlights for my 65g tank. After searching the forums, I caught a project that seemed very intriguing. Here is the page...

While I do have a Kessil 360we, I am thinking to just install them on the inner portion on the of the black trim on the back of the tank.

In terms of color temp, I can choose from either blue or UV. My question is while the blue seems the natural choice, would there be any benefit to going with the UV? Below are the specs for the blue and UV...

One other thing to keep in mind...I will be making a future purchase of an Apex controller, and I saw their Lunar Simulation Module. I am just better of going with the Apex product? The only problem I have is that the Apex Lunar looks big and bulky...whereas the LED DIY would be soo much more low profile and streamline. Not too concerned about the controllability, since I would probably just manually turn them on and off when I was home or in the mood.

Here is the Apex for reference...

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I just ordered some kessils and was planning some moonlights. I already own an apex and did a little research. It appears the lunar module has been discontinued. I'm not sure why you would need it to begin with. The apex will already let you control a set of leds without it.

Not sure if that helps.
