So I've finally got sick if looking at my lights on my tank rim. So I bought a 1/2" steel tubing. Painted to black, and used the in store pipe bender (not sure if I was supposed to use it) to bend the 90* cut it to length and used a hammer to flatten the end of the piper that was behind the stand, drilled holes in it so I could put a screw through and broke out the level to make sure everything was straight and level.
