DIY Light Stand

I recently upgraded the lighting on my 20 gal display tank from a 130w PC to the 24" Outer Orbit HQI with 150w MH and 2x65w actinic PC. After receiving the light, I realized the light is 15" wide whereas my tank is only 12" wide, so there's no way it could be mounted on top with the legs that it came with. I couldn't hang it neither cuz we have a strict landlord. So here's my DIY light stand made out of PVC pipe:

Materials:
1" PVC pipes
T and L connectors
PVC cement
black spray paint

Design:

Final product:
The front beam ended up being a little bit off cuz I cemented the wrong end in, but it doesn't really affect the over all functionality ;)

Yepp, it does. It will have to do until we move. Still think it was the best thing we could do for $20.

looks uggly...

Give me a break. That was not nice. Shoud they have used 4x4s so it does not fall over on their family???

Muggle, great job on getting it setup on the cheep. What can't PVC solve?

I have a temp mh over my 150. You would laugh at the 2x4's.

What is the egg crate for do you have some jumpers? Plastic wire mesh lets more light threw.

Egg crate is there so light doesn't go through - not just yet.

Don't want to bleach any corals. Will come off in a week or two.
