can someone refresh my memory what size sheet i would need to make a 16" reflectror, looking to get http://www.horticulturesource.com/product_info.php?products_id=1134 and want to know how many can i make out of each 2'x4' sheet

You can probably make at least one and some of another per 2' x 4' sheet and below will give you an idea of how many I got out of the 4 - 2'x4' sheets of this stuff. I had enough to actually make 1 19" x 19" lumenarc style and 3 20" x 20" lumenbright style out of one order of this hamertone stuff. I also used a plasma cutter and layed everything out to get the most out of each sheet though. I had a little left over and it was enough to make more corner pieces for a lumenarc style with the main part being polished aluminum. I did have to make the tops seperate and rivet them on due to a 19" or 20" reflector being too wide for the 2'x4' sheet but was not that hard or a big deal just add a 1/4" lip to the top and bend it over. Hope this helps and gives you some idea.

if i scale it down to 14" can i get two per sheet? Tryingt o figure out how many i can build casue someone else and i are splitting the cost of the 4 sheets. So trying to figure out how many we can build each.

You should be able too but might have to make the top all separate like I was talking about in the above post. It is not hard just leave about 3/8" longer so you can fold over and rivet to top. That is how I did all mine and came out great just a few more rivets. You can also lay the patterns out on the sheet so you get the pieces as close to each other as possible and you might have room for more or at least extra pieces in case of screw ups. I did mine on a computer program on a friends plasma cutter so I was able to move pieces in all different angles so there was only minimal waste.

wow this is cool stuff. if i ever need to do a frag tank all il need is my ballast and socket. what it the better reflector tho luminarc or luman bright? im also wondering if the comanies will get grumpy about this. not that im with them at all i think this S&*t is great

IMO luminarc has a better spread and lumenbright is better for depth. For a frag tank I would use a luminarc to cover a wider area, frag tanks usually arent deep. If I was going to light the bottom of a 30" or deeper tank I would use a lumenbright.

Hey i was wandering if there is a thread like this for T5 DIY reflectors. getting a new frag tank and dont want to spend 21 bucks a reflector

i dont know, but i sent it to a buddy to print for me, and he opened it with CAD, and it showed up in the right size. (just throwing that out there if you have access to CAD)

Got these from and old tanning bed.

This one is 40"x70". Hoping to make some reflectors out of it.
