DIY Lumenbrights

I just made my DIY lumenbrights the other day and just installed them and I am very dissapointed. The reflectors look good and even though they aren't perfect they are still very functionable. However, After installing them I have noticed a significant decline in intesity and color. I am confused because there is nothing wrong with the reflectors. Is it possibly because I am using double ended bulbs? It seems like the connectors inside the reflector are preventing the bulb to reflect on all sides. But even if it did reflect on all sides it would just spread the light more right? Why is there a significant decline in intensity. The bulbs are about 6 inches higher than the previous fixture but it doesn't seem like there should be that much of a decline. They are also made out of solar tube extensions and are definitly a step up from the odyssey fixture reflectors.

The oddysea reflectors may have focussed the light into a tighter area where as your new ones may be spreading it out more.

A couple of pics might help.

I have 2 lumenarc DIY reflectors over my tank with 400w SE 20k's. Im still debating on the 3rd. I used the solar tube also.
