Got a 2.5g that I want to turn into a Zoa/Paly tank tied with my main tank. Not sure if the glass is tempered but what would be the best way to implement an overflow?
Depends how you want it sitting relative to your main tank. Check with the tank manufacturer, if it's not tempered drilling is the best bet for tying it in. Hang on overflows can be problematic on small tanks since there is little room for start up of siphons and lots of room for flooding if the overflow clogs.
A mini Bean animal would be nice
If it's tempered all you can do is hang on with an aqua lifter or such to maintain siphon.......
I will be attempting this soon I have a few hob filters kicking around, what's a couple buck for a 1/2" bulkhead and a scrap aqua clear 150. Worth a try anyways. Might need a little weir wall created to help out in case of power failure. Similar to a proper overflow system but I'm gonna try it in the near future
I have a marineland that I used as a terrarium for newts back in the day, no idea if it's tempered or not. Only around 1/8" thick glass so very well could be tempered but never looked into it.
