diy skimmer question

Ok, I have tried the search function for the last week and cant get through, so I guess I will have to start a new thread. I am sure this question has been asked so please forgive me for asking again.

I am building a skimmer with 4 inch acrylic and want to know how high I should put the input connection.

Lets say the skimmer body is 24 inches tall, at what height should the connection be that feed water into the skimmer.

I dont know if it really matters but I am planning on using a venturi feed.

I was thinking about 18 inches high. Is that too high, low??

go thru as low as you can, then from inside you can raise it to the right height that works best for your skimmer by adding tubing.
