DIY Stand build - 180

Very nice work, but overkill is right, it could always double as an air-raid shelter, I'd hate to see the crane your gonna use for your DIY hood, lol

Nothing like a little peace of mind. Im glad I over built my stand just so I can sleep at night.

The only thing I would have done is to seal that plywood under the tank in some way. Cuz you know you will drip on it.

Actually, the plywood ended up coming off, and the tank right onto the 4x4's. I had the slightest variations in the board, and when I placed the tank right on the 4x4's it was perfectly flat. No reason to mess with the plywood heh.

Hey, some people say it's overkill, but it was easier than a lot of guys that take 50 2x4's and start strapping 3-4-5-6 together in certain sections :) I know I don't have to worry about it, and the extra $50-100 I spent on the stand would make itself up just in the SALT alone if there was a problem (let alone corals, sand, fish, rock, etc).

It's amazing the things that people skimp on that I see, yet worry about less important. I'll play it safe.

A mostly updated image. The loop into my main system isn't complete for another couple of weeks. Everything looks good though (fish and corals already in).
