Diy stand need ideas for doors

Hi guys/gals
I built my stand for my 125 using rocket engineer's template and I am not sure how to go about putting doors on it. I only have basic tools so I don't think I could make them. Another issue is the size of the opening in my stand with no center support. I guess if I have to I can put in a removable center support. The span of the opening is about 63 inches and about 24 inches tall. These measurements will leave about one to two inches around the opening. I just need some ideas on how to get some doors on here so my kids will stop trying to put things in the sump. Thanks.

Im in the same spot as you with my stand I built. Looks exactly like yours except mine is a for a 75g. You can order the doors online to stand and match but order 3 or four so they fit. Then attach them using magnetic latches. That way you can remove them and not have to worry about hinges and things since there is no center brace.

Google cabinet doors and have some made to your specifications.

I prefer to keep open access (my opening is about 45 inches) the left side door has a panel that blocks light from the gap between the doors.

hope this gives you some ideas

im building some doors by taking some 1x4's and cuting a 1/4" groove in the 3/4" side with a table saw, and make a picture frame out of the 1x4 with a 1/4" panel in the center. might rip the 1x4's in half and make the frame out of 1x2instead will see how it will look.

I also used rocket engineer's thread to build my stand. The doors were very easy to make. Don't mind the crappy stain job. I used the wrong wood and rushed the job with no regrets.

You could just make one large decorative panel that hangs on clips that you lift off and set aside when you need access to it. Maybe some tongue & groove hardwood, with a border of some sort around it?

Or use magnets to hold two panels on, then you still have a lot of access and it will stop the little ones from adding things to your sump!
