HAS ANYONE MADE THERE OWN TANK CONTOLLER USING A MICROCHIP PIC16F877 TO TURN ON AND OFF LIGHTS AND PUMPS AND TO CHECK THE TEMP?

I started mine using a pic18F2620 completed the main CPU board, but started remodeling my house and decided to finaly finish my masters so that took a back seat for a while. In the mean time I discovered the wonders of PLC's and Smartrelays. Easy to program and will do anything an aquarium controller does. But I still havent forgotten my own controller, Ill restart work on it sometime in the summer.

I do have to say it would have been much easier and cheaper to just buy something and live with it. You will never find something that does everything you want. That is a big reason why I just decided to make my own is that I did not want to settle for what you could buy. Granted it does cost a little more but I can Control my Tank the way I want to control it.
