Let there be light! Hows the cycle going? Fish soon?

Mines still just sand, water, and light... All over the place as to what I want to stock with. Im struggling between LPS / Soft Corals, and all out Bubble tips. Both I think would make a cool display, part of my consideration is which one would be easier to maintain, so I'm leaning towards the soft corals with lps.

The cycle is going... No more ammonia, just waiting for nitrite to drop and it's taking its time. I have a clown in a nano that needs to go in there. So as soon as possible he should be in there

questions.
did you use a pad under the tank? in one of the pic of setup it almost looks like you did not?
about how much did the stand coast? if you dont mind me asking...

Yes, there is a pad under there. It's a thin clear rubber pad that I have had forever, not sure where I got it.

I built the stand myself. I am glad people like the look of it. I am not good at woodworking and it took me forever to build. I was so worried it would not look good. It cost about $150-175. The most expensive part was the plywood cover. I had to buy two 8x4 sheets at $40 a piece because of the size.

Nice tank and build!
I am really thinking of an SC tank...just cant decide on what size :/

I actually bought this tank off craigslist. I really wanted a cube and had not heard of SC aquariums before. I did a search and the reviews were mainly positive, especially about the service. I can say, once I got the tank, I was really surprised at the quality. It looks really nice. I would definitely recommend one. Some of the bigger 140 and 160 gallons are cool too. Not sure how big your looking.

Dude! It looks really clean. Is it done cycling yet?

Is that the stand that comes with it? It's really nice looking.

Yeah that's the stock mdf stand ( the cheaper one), I painted it white. In about a week I am receiving KPaquatics cured live rock with 5 hermit crabs from their florida keys aquaculture site. Last time I bought some it looked great, reds, and purple coraline all over, feather dusters ect. I am hoping 38lbs ordered will make a nice little pile in the center for ease of coral placement =)

Awesome build, tagging along!

Greaps, did you say you're running a DC15000 full blast on a 50 gallon cube? Your overflow and sump handle that kind of flow? I only ask because I'm running a DC9000 on my 93 gallon cube and I'm only running it at 70%, and it's also feeding a GFO reactor. I had it running at 80% and that just seemed like too much lol

With the reef flakes sand I am running it at 80%. I am having no problems with the 1 inch full siphon, I actually have it dialed back some on the gate valve. No micro bubbles to speak of, but I don't have a skimmer. If my sand would stay in place id run 100%.

Yeah flow is flying through the sump, but its part of the plan anyway,I wanted to get away with no power heads in the tank, and a lot of water being pulled into the overflow and into the sock.
