Do certain BTAs not get along?

Hi was wondering if different BTAs can have a negative effect on each other? I have a tank with a rainbow, and a green BTA. Added a new color BTA last week and ever since then, the new addition has been deflating and gaping. It came out of treatment last week and was doing well until I added him to the display.

IMO there's just too many factors in this.. these things have all happened to me:

1) some BTA just don't make it.. treatment or not. some just expel till it has nothing left

2) there could be something in the tank that your old BTA can resist but the new one can't.. I was able to save a few BTA by transferring them to another tank.

3) not all BTA can touch each other.. clones have no issue. some red ones seem to have no issue, but maybe they were clones at some point. A few of my BTAs touched and the weaker ones melted after. These are all established BTAs..

maybe your DT lighting is too strong? I like to put BTAs in dark corners. They should move toward the light in a day or two

Ok will try shading him first as he is right under the light in a basket. If that doesn't help, guess I'll have to relocate him to a different tank. Thanks for the help!
