Do clams benefit from a glass cleaning?

Just like the title says. I had to clean the glass today and was wondering if my new derasa gets any benefit from it.

You get the benefit for a clear view. Not so much for clams. The algae that grows on glass are too large for clams to consume so it will pass right through their gill and not get picked up.
