Do clowns pair up fast

I got a small O. Clown to go with my one that I have had for almost 3 years in my 12gal nano last weekend. The older clown had been hosting in a toadstool for about 6 months and when I checked on them tonight they were together in the toadstool. I searched in the FAQ but could not find how long it would take as long as there was no fighting. My female basically accepted it from the moment I put him in there. So just wondering if the mating process is actually that fast. Maybe since she has been alone for over 2 years accept for crabs and snails she was ready.:smokin:

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I have a clown I purchased about a month ago and bought a juvenile clown and put him in the quarantine tank with the larger one. The larger one chased the juvi for about 2 minutes and now they are inseparable and hosting the pvc T pipe I have in there. Definately tagging along for more experienced peoples opinions. Thanks for posting the exact question I was wondering about.

It is entirely dependant on the individual fish I am afraid to say, In my opinion it has been hard to pair clarks complex fish, and a. eppiphium
Ocellaris, percs have been easier for me, alot of variables at play to give a definative answer.

Tomato was an @$$ to pair up for me. Also was a pair of maroon i had. tooked me about 2 weeks.

I had one a year, then added a smaller second one. They fought for a day, and then they turned best buds. Im hoping they start laying soon, but its only been 3 weeks.
