i kept lost zoanthid and not sure who the culprit. It was rastas first and now utter chaos :(. I don't think it melted since my other zoanthid still survive. I picked out all the little starfish so i can only think of hermit crabs and strawberry crab. Anyone know do they eat zoanthids? i only have yellow tang, small mccosker wrasse, anthia and blue damsel.

I had some predatory snails that were eating my Zoa's. Do you have anything in your tank that looks like these?

No just turbo snails. So frustrated last night that i was going to chop up whatever i caught into pieces. I didnt caught anything 😂.

Where did you get the strawberry crab from? Local?
I've read of mixed experiences with them. Seems they are hit and miss. Cool looking guys- if you ever get to see them.

I got it as a hitch hiker with a coral. He was a little guy and now a little bigger. I thought he dead since i dont feed him . He always hiding and i barely saw him.

How do you know these snails were eating your zoos? Can you post a pic?

I didn't take a picture of them on my Zoa's. I'm fairly confident they were eating them though since my Zoa's were the only thing dying in the tank and they were dying one colony at a time.(the colony these snails were on) The only time I saw those snails in my tank, they were on one of my Zoa colonies. I never saw them on another coral or just hanging out on the glass or the substrate.

Once I began removing these snails, my Zoa colonies stopped dying. At last count, I have removed 19 of these guys from the tank.
