Love LPS. Had fantastic success with several species. But now I'm seeing real growth on my SPS garden. About to migrate from my 75 to a 150. Obviously I'm thinking of my stocking list. It gets complicated pretty quick. One thing I would really like is a clam. Another is a fan or two. But do these require really clean water, while my LPS success has been from dirtier water?
For now, let's talk fish. Not everyone has to move into the new house, but there's got to be a significant reason not to. My biggest question is the order of addition. Example: once my Kole Tang is in there for a while, will that mean no other additions? Stuff like that.
Current stock, which I've posted before:
Yellow bar maroon clownfish (yeah, I know..... but had her the longest.)
Kole tang
One spot Foxface
Dwarf angelfish (clam nipper?)
2 PJ cardinalfish. These guys seem constantly stoned and just float around.
Got a few options: magnificent Foxface, PB tang (yes, 150 is a bit small, so maybe a yellow instead). A male and 2 female McCosker flashing wrasse? Then there is bunch of goby options, purple dottyback, squirrelfish, or maybe a hawkfish?
What are the guidelines putting this together? Accept that the dwarf flame angelfish is a risk for a clam? Plan on ultra low nutrients and sacrifice my LPS growth to have gorgonian fans? SO many variables....
