Do I Have Enough Live Rock?

i have 100lbs of live rock in a 100g tank,no sump. running phos reactor,skimmer,3 pwr headsand fluval 404 with carbon and biomedia.....soon to connect wavemaker which will have total of 4 pwr heads. can i either take out biofilter or remove fluval canister alltogether? running reef set up.

I think so. I have 88 lbs in my 120 and I think it's the perfect amount.

I would add another 50#, lose the bio media but, keep the 404 for carbon and to polish. Are you stocking mainly fish or inverts?

i do have some fish (1 naso , 1 kole tang , 6 green chromis and bunch of inverts and mostly softies. however no room for sump so i wondered if i took out bio and just left canister for flow and carbon.

you have some big poopers in that tank my friend you need a skimmer... if you dont have a sump you need a hang on the back skimmer.. the only HOB skimmer that is worth a darn is a deltec http://www.deltecusa.us/proteinskimmers/mc500.php

i do have a skimmer.....css 125 and fish are reletively small at this point in time. i thoughtbiomedia was a nitrate producing factory.

i like carbon so i say run carbon in the canister filter and every couple of weeks open it up and rinse it out to remove any debris...

thanks for your input.....i'll pull out half biomedia for about a week and then pull other half. maybe even add some lr in it along with carbon.
