i have a 55 gal mixed reef. mostly softies but have recently got into lps. i have a frogspawn and trach right now but planning on getting other lower light lps. would 2400 gph be too much flow in a 55 gal?

2 korillia 4s by chance.See how your corals react to the flow and if they like it then go for it.

I have a hydor koralia 2 and a 1 and my LPS seem very happy in my 65g. I had a 3 and a 1 and it was too much. Really stirred up my elegance too much. Everything seems happy now. I may try 2 2's but why mess with success.

i already have 2 koralia 3s and i dont have that much movement from my softies and some movement from my frogspawn. just wondered if anyone thought it would be a problem

I have two #3's in my 55 tank and my sps get great flow while the lps at the bottom get just enough flow to feed.

I have a bubble so I cant let it get beat around too much. If you are focused more on SPS I would say go with more flow.

my main concern is keeping detrius off of the rock work. plus i would like to see movement from my leathers. wth the 2 koralia 3s i dont get much movement. it is probably the way that i have the positioned. it makes the flow very dispersed.

I think it depends upon the shape of your tank, rock formation, placement of the pump, etc. I have one 2 facing my little SPS garden and they are all quite happy. At the moment -- my elegance is okay. When I did cleaning on Sunday and put the pump back it was facing a different directions and my blastos on the bottom were not happy. Just changed the direction and happy blastos!
