Do I need one piece of plywood or 2

So I got a new tank well new to me stand dimension are 48x48 1/2 LxW however tank dimensions are 48 1/2x48 3/4 slightly larger so I figured I would go with a 49x49 piece of plywood slightly oversized to cover over the stand that is slightly smaller than the tank. Only issue is I can’t find any plywood that’s over 48 inches wide. Can I use 2 slightly small prices of plywood and put them together or is it better to have one solid piece

I caved and bought a 5x5 1 inch plywood and had it cut down to 49x49 inches. It’s very heavy!!!
