Do I need to copper treat?

Around 3 weeks ago I broke down my tank due to a nasty bubble algae outbreak. Anyways I sold most of the fish besides a sailfin tang a black and white ocellaris and 3 anthias.

They've been in a 30g tank while the MT is rebuilt and cycled etc. I plan to use this tank as a QT in the future for any new additions.

I have had ich in the past and I have seen the clown with it about 4 months back however I don't see nor have I seen signs of ich for months on any of the fish I still have.

Would it be wise in this transition period to treat with cupramine. Or is there no need to since its been so long since I've seen any symptoms? I've never had a QT in the past but every new fish from now on will be treated. I just don't want to introduce ich into a new tank that I have a chance to keep parasite free.

One other question I have is, is it ok to use pazipro at the same time as cupramine?

I would assume your fish have icy but are just asymptomatic. Breaking down your DT the way you have will essentially sanitize it, so yes, this would be a good time to treat your remaining fish.

Your 3 options are Copper, hypo salinity and tank transfer. I would consider doing tank transfer over copper. Copper can be toxic, especially if the levels are raised too quickly or too high and TT, although slightly more work is easier on the fish. You Don't have to get another QT to do it; I actually use a rubbermaid tub as my temporary tank.

Have you ever had any other parasites to make you think you need prazipro? Either way, don't do it at the same time as cupramine. Treat for one first, make sure the fish are well and eating for a few days, then start the second treatment.

You're not in a hurry, so take some time to read the stickies on ich, other diseases, copper treatment and tank transfer. Both work, you just need to decide for yourself which is best for you & your fish.

I agree great advise and thank you.

I don't think the tank transfer method will work for me being that none of the fish are showing signs of ich nor have they since I transferred them into the holding tank 3 weeks ago.

But from what I've read my understanding is that if your fish have had ich in the past and have never been copper treated to treat it that they still have ich in some form and should still be treated. Is my understanding correct?

As far as the prazipro goes thanks for letting me know not to use it at the same time I definately won't. I was asking for future fish. I won't be treating my current fish with it.
