Do I need to feed every Duncan head?

you can feed them anything, they will grab onto some really large chunks of meat that might surprise you.
Also, you dont NEED to feed any of it. so if you miss a head or something, it wont die off, but anything you can feed will certainly keep it happy. I always try to aim for the smaller heads as they develop to give them more of a boost, not sure if that helps them grow more or not, just my attempt at getting them to catch up to the larger ones.

I have never fed mine directly. I started with a piece of 'rubble rock' which was a stick with slime on the end. Around a year and a half later I have a 10+ head duncan. I don't run a skimmer so I have more food in the water column....but I just wanted to share my experience. I just feed my fish...I don't feed my corals anything. If they get something it is by chance and whatever is in the water column.
Year and a half ago, or maybe a bit less? Can't remember exactly. It was around when I joined so not much before June 2012
Just now, not the greatest angle. I did not feel like sticking my hand in and moving it for a better pic. 8 large heads, 3-4 smaller ones

True True. I imagine since I don't run filtration of any kind (only water movement plus xenia/chaeto) and no skimmer I have a lot more tiny stuff in the water column as well. More of a lagoon tank but maybe I could very well have twice as many if I did feed. Just saying I don't personally 
I love duncans. It was my first coral since rejoining the hobby. It took months of annoying you guys to get an id. I was actually trying to get an id from that first pic. silly, silly me lol. I was such a noob. Still am...but at least a BIT less haha.

Also, this thing is nuts. It had every single tentacle eaten by a matted filefish for a month. Just the green stalk was left. It kept putting out new ones and the fish kept eating it. Since it was eating my aiptasia too I allowed it but I did eventually trade the fish (with a full and complete warning that he ate coral) and it came back 100%. Duncans are awesome!

Lookin good! An all around cool coral. And yes if you want to, fun to feed. Good feeding response. Mine do get some krill when I feed it to the whole tank.

I just saw my duncan snatch a big ol piece of shrimp that was intended for my brittle star but the current swept it away. Crazy how it caught it like odell beckham jr!
