Do Octopus Skimmers use standard plumbing?

I just received my ps ext 120 today and it looks like have to run it external because the 4x10 footprint they said it has, it's actually more like 7x11.

I just wanted to make sure it uses standard USA plumbing before I run to the hardware store and buy some stuff to run it external.

I take it you figured it out....

I ended up just filing out the inside of PVC to make it fit on the metric plumbing mine came with. It was a cheap and quick fix.

they gave me an adapter with the skimmer but the funny thing about it is this. It says metric on one end and british on the other... Doesn't Britian use metric plumbing also?

No, and that is the only downfall of these skimmers. Otherwise they are excellent!!!

Filing out PVC was easy and cheap for me, but I would agree, if you aren't handy then it can be a downfall.

well they come with 2 or 3 metric adapters now.

Mine came to me second hand, so no adapter for me. Its great that they come with adapters now!

i ask my class mate if they are on metric at his home (london) and he said NO. i was suprised.
