No, they will not eat mushrooms. I've had peppermints with mushrooms loads of times..
Are you sure they're being eaten and not just falling off and getting lost somewhere? Sometimes if you change the flow/lighting on them they dont like it right away so they come off the rocks...
I have never witnessed my peppermint eating any of my coral but I would not dismiss it as a culprit . Crabs and shrimp are opportunistic creatures and could start eating anything if hungry.
Hmmm....thanks guys.
Shrimps are in my 5gal office tank so the don't get fed over the weekend. I bought a dead sps rock with about 30 tiny shrooms on it and they're everywhere now. It seems like some have dissappeared. the rock was full of crabs too. bad crabs with black claws and one red one. I dismsmbered all of them I've seen. Who knows perhaps they just moved about so much the numbers only seemed to deminish.

I caught a pep. shrimp in the act of eating my red mushroom! He ate almost half of it by the time I got home....needless to say he is no longer in the tank.
