Do porcelain crabs shed?

I found what i think is a shed of my procelain crab, but it has the same pattern as he did. And his mits and everything. Ive had him for 6 months btw. I havent taken it out yet.

they molt. you might think its a dead crab, but if you take it out, you will probably see that its hollow

Leave the molt in. They'll eat it as a source of food.

I found him doing his usual thing behind some live rock, i threw the molt out before i read your post lol.

Leave it in next time. It's an a good source of calcium. Infact I know some people will crush up the molt and put it in their food (although I don't think that would work for a filter feeding porcelain crab)
