Do Pyjama Cardinals turn white?

I came home about 2 days ago and my Pyjama Cardinal had turned completely white. All of the lights were off in the apartment including the aquarium light. I turned on the tank light and he had lost all color!! It's color came back within about 20 minutes. Since then I've checked on him at night when the tank light is off and he's always white. But during the day he looks normal and he's acting normal (eating etc.) Is this normal? Do Pyjama Cardinals turn white at night?

A lot of fish change color at night to blend in better. Cardinals usually hunt at night, so maybe it makes them invisible on the reef to predators and prey.

Huh that makes sense. I was just kind of surprised that I couldn't find anything about it anywhere online. Cool well he's doing just fine so you're probably right.

My pajama cards don't do that, but my tangs certainly change color at night
