Do redbugs only infest acros?

I have a Pocillipora that is being eaten by something. I've had it for a little over a year but whatever it is just started in the last month. I took it out of the tank and looked at it very carefully and can not see anything. I then did a dip in Lugols and it's now in a QT. I quarantine all corals and inverts for at least 8 weeks. I do not have any acros. As far as SPSs are concerned I have 3 montis and a purple stylo in the main. So do redbugs only infest acros?

Red bugs only infest acros with little to no polyp extension as well. For instance they wont heavily infest an acropora such as a.millepora.

They also dont "eat" acro. They mostly just tick them off....worse case they get brown and stop growing but unless its weak or the infestation is crazy severe I've never heard of them killing any tissue or an actual colony.

I've had them plenty of times in the past and know what to look for. I've never seen them on a montipora.

Are you sure your not thinking of montipora eating nudibranch?

I'm sure, they look way too different to mistaken from nudibranch. They were little orange dots on a green monti cap.

Thanks for the reply! I'm trying to narrow down what this could be. So ruling out redbugs and AEFW what else can it be? Do we, as aquarists, deals with a pest that invades Pocilliporas? Something came off the coral after the dip yesterday. I looked at it through a microscope and took a video of it. I will post pics later today.
