I have recently had a strange occurrence with my singularia. I discovered a narrow brown band on one of the branches. It looked to me like dinos had wrapped around the stalk. I blew off the brown stuff a couple of times but it kept returning. Finally I amputated the bud below the "ring",treated with iodine and returned the coral to the tank. All seemed OK for a few days. Today I found two more narrow bands around
different sections of the same softie. When I blew the encircling gunk away the cut looked as clean as a razor. Is this normal (some type of natural division ), or is my softie under attack? I've had this coral for two years without incident. The rest of the tank looks good and nothing going has been added for months. Does anyone know what's going on?
