Do Tunzes Age Poorly

Hey Guys,

I have been running my Tunzes for a long time. I have some of the original brown 6200's.

It seems like in the past 18 months or so the performance has drastically dropped off. Impellers are clean. The pumps get vinegar soaked every 6 months but they don't seem to be pushing as much water as before.

Anyone else had any experience with this ?

And on a second topic, I see the 6305 was discontinued, is there a replacement model on the horizon?

Thanks

Dave B

The 6200 in brown color would be from 2004-2005, they have had a very long life for a controllable electronic pump and certainly are nearing the end of life. If you are using the original impeller assemblies, replacing them may have a dramatic effect on flow, drive units on any pump will show a substantial drop in performance after a few years. The magnets lose power and the prop wears down and abrades and various parts start to slip.

6305 is being replaced by 6255 which will be available next month.
