Do you feed a clam?

I know clams in general are filter feeders, but this one is pretty big. Should I be feeding it something? Also, if you could help to ID it, that would be great. It came in a reef tank I recently purchased and is the first clam I've ever kept.

It is a deresa clam. We need more info, but generally they do not need to be fed. If you have an established tank with fish that should be good. Clams need a tank of 6-12 months of age, bright light MH, LEDS, or T5's, calcium, alk, and mag to survive. You need to do your research to ensure you can meet its needs. Looks very healthy for now though.

I bought an already established tank and the clam came with it. This isn't my first tank, just an upgrade from the one I had. The sump was part of the purchase and was already established also. The whole thing was set up for a few years. There is a ton of live rock and corals in the tank. There are 2 - 250w MH lights and a 90w actinic light fixture. Calcium, alk and mag are all in normal ranges. So does the clam ever need any marine snow or other supplements?
