Do you have a skimmer for me?

I have an 180g all-glass reef with dual overflow that empty into a refugium underneath that is connected to a sump where water is pumped back up to aquarium.

I have been running skimless for 15 months and want to add a skimmer. Space underneath is at a premium. The only space is in an area of the sump about 6"x6" and about 23" height maximum. I would like to skim before the refugium so as not to disturb phytoplankton etc. I do have a small compartment at the begining of the refugium where the water flows from the tank and would like to place a hose there and connect it to the skimmer that I physically place in the sump further down the water flow. Does Tunze have a productt that meet my needs?

I have been impressed with the Tunze 7042 multicontroller and 2 Turbelle streams that I have in addition to an Osmolator Universal.

You say 6*6- how deep is the water? Tunze skimmers are designed such that they cannot remove live plankton so this isn't even an issue.

The water is about 7 inches deep. Level controlled by the Osmolator. I can increase it by another inch.
The foot print can also be increased an inch or two (I was keeping some margin for tubes, cleaning etc.)

Umm- of course an ETSS is going to remove plankton- it is one of the most powerful skimmers available and absolutely strips the water. Tunze skimmers accomplish this by never letting the pump touch the tank water. The water inside the skimmer is recircualted and proteins diffuse into the skimmer by osmosis.

fmuakkassa- can you get a 10" water level- if so I recommend model 3130/2. Otherwise none of our skimmers will work.

rvitco,
thanks for the response. I can get a 10" water level but that could be too close for comfort in case of main pump failure as I might overflood the sump. I'll look into it closer by shutting the pump off and see how far the water level rises.
