DOC Skimmer 9410

I am looking into a skimmer for a 65 gallon Reef tank.

Has anyone used this skimmer?

If so, how well did/does it perform?

I am sure you want some end user experiences, but this would be a very good skimmer and definitely strong enough.

Are there any issues with the pumps that drive these skimmers?

I am considering the sump kit for this tank.

The only things I have seen are broken shafts and damaged bearings, but that can happen to any pump with a ceramic shaft and it is a simple fix. Besides that I have seen one pump where gravel got in and shredded the drive unit and housing, but within reason it is a very durable pump.

I have been using a 9410 for a couple of months now and I am very pleased with its performance... Daily it creates almost the same amount of skimmate as I did with my old air driven AM Midiflotor in a month!

It is not completely silent but does not say much...

BTW my total system is about 50 gallon.

Ive been using the 9410 on my 120gal tank for over six months and it does a great job.
