I'm Doc...I've already meet several of you....

Just joined, but have been watching this sps forum and RC for years, just never posted.....kind of a fly on the wall so ta say....

I guess it would be more formal to introduce you to my reef lab, as opposed to myself....

Now look close anybody reconize something familiar....????...you got it red bugs! This is an old photo, before I got rid of the bugs via interceptor.....this is a very hairy blue tenuis...it seemed to not really be affected by the bugs as much as others...but has tripled in growth rate as well as x2 the PE...and even better color...if that seems possible....

I strive to maintain good healthy color....my old 14K hammys strived to take away my colors....lol....bad hammys..lol....Now its radiums and 20 K XM, with aquasuns, and super actinics.......

Oh FWIW these pics were not taken with the 20Ks, it was my old coralvue 14K's and some are the hammys....all with added vho....

This is just the start of my acro collection...! Not to mention alot of other sps...and my wife and 6 year old son Ash, have several tanks packed FULL of softies...many rare...we prefer to keep no Lps at this reef farm.....just personal preference...

Hey reefer no problem!!! I enjoy reef discussion!

I feed tons of fish waste! A heavy stocked tank with deep 4inch sandbed....lots of circulation....

I'm a functional reefer not fancy reefer....

I don't buy expensive equip. Just basic stuff, good husbandry...good light bulbs...and lots of care !

All sea chem products...no CA reactor...(yet!)....been growing corals over 6 years.....

I have chaeto scrubber tank, and xenia filter tank piped into the main 180 acro tank...no softys...just lots of xenia....then a prop tank hooked into that mix as well...no fancy plumbing just basic...

Only thing digital I own is many digital therm....

I have many tangs, and others like near 20 fish in this 180 acro tank! Feed very heavy 3 times a day! Just a small remora hang on the back skimmer, pulls alot out, but is way too small...but is no problem...believe me I have had my troubles through the years....Here in kansas all that time...no internet for much of it...had to just run constant experiments and read read read.....then read a bit more Bob Fenner!

But back to feeding....I mix in a blender to water consistancy...all kinds frozen stuff mostly brine...flake food...selcon...reef plus....a bit of RO water....cycloops eeze, and finally a bit of dry golden pearls...mix er good...then freeze...we add it at night 2-3 times a week to all 8 tanks....but fish waste and micro creatures/ home grown plankton is the majority of the food...
