Does Amino acids is enough for rearing a chili coral?

Would like to know if a daily dose of amino acids is enough for NPS corals such as red chilli ? Or Sun coral ?

My suspicion is that no, amino acids alone won't be enough. But I'm just getting started with NPS corals myself. I just wanted to follow this thread and keep it current. I hope you see more quality replies.

BTW, looking down the list of threads here in this forum, it seems most of them are pretty old.

No, amino acids isn't food - its synthesized by living organism to help form protein. Corals (and most animals) get it through their diet with some that are synthesized solely by the coral (and cannot be synthesized otherwise).

I am doubtful whether corals can uptake amino acids direct from the water column.
