Does anyone else have AMAZING colors like IWAN?

I think the tank looks great. I was a fan of very low nutrient systems for quite some time.

That being said, it appears to me that all the photos are a little on the blue side, almost like they were shot under actincs only. And we know that all tanks look good under actincs...

Any photo guys out there do some colour correction so the pics are less blue?

I remember when I was young, my mother would tell me, "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all". Was I the only one???

no, your mother told me that also

LOL ;)

Whoa...lots of advice, lots of knocking and lots of praise. Gotta love it, as we are all different and really thats what makes this hobby so exciting, to each there own!!

I have a Quick question?

Looking at these photos, the corals are pastel, the GLASS is perfect, the back is spotless and not a stitch of color on the sandbed. (doesnt look that real to be honest)

What gives with that? Can someone explain or instruct as to why?

Personally I like darker rich color looking corals and yes i slack on cleaning the glass everyday...

Actually, that brings another saying to mind that I think is applicable here to Iwan's beautiful corals and system:

If you can't beat it (them), join it (them)!:D

I see the attractiveness in Iwan's tank. I prefer the more natural look, though.

Anyone have an update pic/info after he made all the changes?

The photos at the start of this thread appear to be his current tank. Here's his earlier tank (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=700454&perpage=25&pagenumber=1). IIRC, he was using a mix of prodibio and zeo products at that time.

Iwan tank is like a live paint, the tank is awesome. A lot of people want to reach the same Iwan colors, but they can´t.

it´s easy to saw I hate instead I can´t

I am going for the IWAN spectrum on my new tank. People are hating because they can't tutvh him.

ludicrous

replicating bleaching events is reefkeeping 101. everyones done it. if its whats hip in germany, then i'll skip the schnaps.

whats difficult about it? step 1: bleach coral - step 2: throw under lots of actinic - done

tell all the reef conservationists to just put t5s over this and the problems solved :rolleye1:

My LFS used to get a bunch trans shipped aquaculture SPS from Bali that had the same colors as shown in the pics. When calling the supplier in Bali he was told that they were bleached out from shipping stress. All the pink millis came in orange and when put under MH they changed to a deep purple, pink color. It's not that hard to achieve them pastel colors. On my old 58, I had 2x 250 XM 10k that turned my corals that pastel color. I saw with my own eyes the corals spitten out some of the zoenthellia. Them bulbs stayed on my tank for 5 days. Way over kill.

I'm not keen on the zeo look. looks nothing like a healthy natural reef, infact the opposite,it looks like the point after bleaching before the coral dies. The photo from AIMS of the GBR in this thread sums it up.

Hmmm, interesting thread. I like both styles of tanks and strive to hit somewhere in the middle. I'm not a huge fan of the full zeospur (ultra pastel) look but I don't think about the pastel tanks as being bulemic. A handful of these tanks have enjoyed documented long term success.

+1

Ditto

Its amazing how his starving corals grow like weeds :hmm5: :hmm5:

howdy miwoodar:wave:
