I was wondering if anyone in the Syracuse area have a extra mp10 or mp 40 I could borrow for a couple days? I would like to see how it will work in my corner tank. I have two koralias that are not cutting it but before I spend the money on a mp I would like to try one if possible.

Marine Depot or Dr Foster will lend you one permanently !
And if your not happy with they will take it back . I bet you will be more than satisfied with a MP.
Good luck on the loan.

I already have both of my spares lent out to other people.

I've got a 75 with one MP40 in it and it is awesome. Keep an eye on the used equipment thread. Look at it this way, you're going to like the pump. It just comes down to the fact are you willing to spend that money on a pump or not? If you're skeptical I would suggest moving some rock around and adjusting your pumps.

Korallia pumps are great. If they're large enough for the tank you should be able to create enough turbulent flow. Post some pictures of your tank and let us know what models you've got.

I couldn't stand my Korallia for more than one day. It was horrible. And HUGE.
Vortech is truly an answer to my powerhead prayers.

gotta agree. A loaner MP? Highly unlikely.

Koralia isn't in the same league of Vortech and/or Tunze.
Keep saving for MP.

well, i have 2 Tunze 6080s in my DT. Nice pumps but, can't do anything else with them. The Tunze controllers won't work with the 6080's :headwally:

how much is a MJ1200 nowadays?

how much is a MJ1200 nowadays?

I used to run a dozen MP1200's in my 220.

Now it's just the water returns and my Vortech.

MP's are great pumps i have a 10 on my biocube and couldn't be happier. Def worth the money

yeah but Gary...everyone knows your RICH! :)
yeah right!

I AM rich... but not monetarily!

a few things I've learned along the way:
1)you (usually) get what you pay for
2)it's better to have a few really NICE things than a whole bunch of not so nice things
3)do it right the first time
4)keep it simple
5)if it ain't broke don't fix it
6)good things come in small packages
7)EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON
8)if it comes down to a choice get the product made in America
9)the grass isn't always greener on the other side
10)it takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow
11)the folks at EcoTech Marine are GREAT

I had 3 powerheads in my 75 rated for like 5000 GPH, plus my return and still had a bunch of dead spots with my sand being blown out of others.

One MP-40 fixed all that. My other powerheads have been relegated to salt mixing and standby for QT.

ok,ok fine ...Gary, lend that guy one of the spare mp 40's you have piled up in the milk crate in the back of your fish tank room :)

btw Gary, on month 3 of QT for the 2 survivors. Must have been Velvet....or flukes. Cupramine is in. Prazipro is next. Always wanted to get a good compound light microscope.
