Does anyone have experience with Eheim Classic Canister Filters?

im looking into getting one


and i just want to know if they work good



as well as whats included with it....will i have to buy the accessories seperate or do they come with the filter



if anyone has any information that can help me..please let me know

They are great if you are using them on a freshwater plant tanks. For reef tanks I would say no and this is my personal opinion. This is why. Several things happen when you use them. One they collect detritus and liquify it it into organics. This will take away food that your natural live rock and live sand can convert to nitrogen. Next it will collect your bug (anphipods, copepods,ect) population and take away a food source from your corals and fish. They also house bacteria that is not needed when using live rock for the tank. This extra bacteria uses alot of oxygen that can rob the tank.
