does anyone have plans for a DIY surface skimmer ?

i need to make/or buy a surface skimmer. i cant find any stand alone surface skimmer units for sale anywhere. so i was going to make one. does anyone have any plans anywhere ?

What are you referring to exactly? Do you want plans for a protein skimmer or are you asking about an HOB overflow box or something similar that will actually pull water from the surface (i.e. surface skimmer)? You can't really expect much help if people have no idea what you're talking about.

sorry. i want sumthing that will keep the water surface clean and clear . as at the mo it has all little bits or dust or sand, etc floating around on it. sumthing ti strain the water surface ( through a foam media ) and put the water back in ? like a box with a pump at the botom. that sits at the waters surface...

If you have a hang on skimmer you can make a skimmer box and put it on your powerhead when its sucking in water. but if you dont have a hang on I would look in to that filter that dw posted.
