Does anyone know anything about Iwaki Pumps?

Hello all, I have an Iwaki MD40RXT, I got everything all hooked up for the closed loop and fired up the pump, and NOTHING.
I can hear it has a little hum so I know it is getting power but it won't fire up. I took it all apart and can't see anything obvious.
Does anyone have any experience with these things?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Iwaki RLT pumps are for pressure applications and the Iwaki RLXT pumps are for circulation or return.

The Iwaki MD40RLXT has a MAX HEAD of 15.4FT. You can use the Hunter Friction Loss PVC Chart.

PVC Fitting Friction Loss in Equivalent Feet of Pipe

Size - 90° - 45° - Out side of Tee - Straight thru Tee

Example: If you have three 1" - 90° elbows in your piping system, you are introducing: (3 elbows x 2.6 feet) = 7.8 feet of equivelant pipe. Add this length to the total length of your system, and use the previous table to figure out the amount of head loss introduced by the new total system length.

Can you rotate it manually when every thing's assembled?

If it's anything like my 70, without taking the fan cover off you can get a socket on the bolt that holds the fan on.

Did you prime the pump?
Meaning, is there water at the impeller?

Depending on how you set up the loop, water may not flow to the pump without purging the air from the loop.

If this is the problem, suck on the output somehow to get the air out.
If this isn't the problem, then, nevermind.

The pump was primed fine thats not it. I took the entire pump apart, there is nothing binding it, no rust no salt creep, nothing. All the inerts are imaculate, it's getting power but won't run.

so you can manually rotate it, when assembled no problem?

Have you tried to manually rotate it with the power on (being careful)?

Yep tried that too, and nothing. It certianly has me baffled.

Is it a 120V or 3 phase pump. Wired correctly?

If the motor turn won't turn under power without pump connected, then motor itself or capacitor toast.

Thanks das75, I also found the manual online. I was thinking the same thing about the capacitor. It is 120 and I believe it is wired correctly. I got it from a buddy of mine, and he had it running on his system for quit some time. I never personally saw it run though.
