Does anyone know what this is?

Does anyone know what this is? It looks like a feather but it most definitely is not. If you notice from the pic it sends out long stringy tendrils in order to catch food as it goes by. The tendrils are almost like cobwebs. They are very thin. It also sends them out most when I am feeding the reef.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I did some research on Vermetid Snails and it definately looks like that is what it is. There is a debate out there though as to whether or not they are harmful to corals. It looks like they are mainly a irritant for Zoas so I am going to move my Zoas to the other side of the tank. That may explain why one batch of my Zoas have actually diminished. We'll see.

Thanks for the help.

I had one of these in my tank as well that was rather large! I found it to be a pest. The slime it secrets tends to touch everything and my corals were constanly closed because the slime would touch them. Also it is unsightly to have a huge slime trail with all sorts of objects stuck in in swaying in the breeze in the aquarium. I got rid of it with a thick mixture of calcium and tank water which I injected into its tube! Never saw the worm again!
