Does anyone know where I could find a close up pic of the clam eating snails??? ..

I just want to make sure I don't have any before getting a clam; I think my stability is coming along nicely; my readings aren't fluctuating much at all.

Also, I have some florida rock with clams that came on it, could I put a nice clam in there with them, or would there be some species conflict or anything of the sort? I had someone suggest removing the clams from the rock, but they were there first, so I would like to let them live since they are doing well.

Thanks!
Angela.

Angela,
are these the ones that are filter feeders? attached upside down on the rock? If so, I don't think they'd be a problem, just give them both room to open and close. I also had a few clams come in on my Florida rock about two years ago. As of right now, I think only one or two have made it. One is right out in front on a "cliff" that gets good flow.

I was wondering the same thing. About how big are they?
They are TINY! Smaller then a grain of rice. Note those pictures I posted were taken using a Nikon 950 using a macro lens. The background is the top of my desk.

Do those snails survive w/o clams in the tank? I think i've seen something like them, very tiny! I don't want to chance it:( They weren't pearly looking like in that photo, though, just kinda matte looking, I think. I'll have to take a good look. Do they affect only fancy clams, or all clams (ie, those on the florida rock)?

Niven, yes, they are exactly that! They open and close and move and stuff, so I know they are alive now, don't know if they'll stay that way, but they are alive now.

Thanks all! Now i'm scared:(
