Does anyone have a glassholes overflow that they may have possibly installed themselves? Do you like it? Why/not? Im thinking about drilling a 30 tall and was hoping to get a bit of input.

I installed one on my little brothers 29g and it works great!

I know Wayne has one and as far as I know has loved his too. :)

I installed the 1500gph (2 hole) version on my 180 and love it!

It was a breeze to drill and their customer service rocks! I recommend it 100%

I had one on my 60 cube. Itworked great and the customer service is second to none. If anyone is buying a tank from lasscages i would recommend you skip the overflow they have and get a glasshles overflow!!

my new build has one. ray charles would find it easy to install....& he's blind AND dead

LOL

but yes....excellent build quality, great price & probably one of the best customer support businesses i have dealt with (repeatedly)

I also found a similar deal on Ebay for $26 + $10 s&h. It seems to be the same setup.

Trust me... its worth it to do Glass Holes. If you have ANY problems, they will make SURE that you get it resolved. Good stuff and worth the bit of extra cost. ;)

i noticed on my GH overflow box, they have the inside partioned off into a 3-sided section (top & 2 sides) that is smaller then the bulkhead. the top piece comes off to facilitate putting the bulkhead in & the sides go about 2/3rd the distance to the bottom. then the bulkhead is higher than the bottom.

the reason this is nice is the "partition" is smaller than the bulkhead so something would have to fit into one of the side areas of the box, then go under the lil side walls & up into the bulkhead to clog it up.....since all this areas are smaller than the bulkhead something clogging it up are near impossible

pics are in the build thread....think plumbing starts around page 3

returns (sump & closed loop) are over the top

I drilled my 75 With a GH 1500GPH setup.
very simple to do, (The template they give you makes it a snap)
I've got an Ebay kit that came with 3 holesaws, and purchased bulkheads separately, but the kit from Glass-holes is just perfect. Everything will just fit.

I would have to say that glass holes was great to deal with i use them with mine and then had a couple of others use it for others so after 3 times still no problems and they are great to work with. you can always save a dollar if you look all over eBay for things but the time and hassle is not worth it for me.

Thanks for the input guys. I just got ahold of someone at Oceanic and they said that my particular tank does not have a tempered back. So Im going to order the GH overflow and get to drillin!!!
