Does light affect PE?

I know it is probably not known for sure, but does the amount of light affect polyp extension on SPS corals? The reason I ask is, I have a red planet frag that had a lot of PE when I bought it. While it was acclimating to the lights, it maintained that polyp extension. However, once I moved it to it's final spot that I wanted it, which is more directly under my LED's, the polyp extension is gone or very little. Color remains fine, but PE has diminished. Water parameters have been stable through this whole process as well. Any thoughts, could it be too much light and PE is not needed now?

It's a far greater likelihood that your put it in less flow and that's why the polyps aren't out. Flow affects SPS polyp extension more than light.

Have you looked at it when the lights are out ?

I'll bet it has polyp extension then.

Edit to add: Alternating flow more than just strong flow stimulates polyp extension.

Thanks, I will have to look at that, but I have (2) WP40's in else mode on my 75g tank. I guess it could be flow, but would be hard to believe. Maybe it is more of the pattern than the amount. It was up against the side glass while acclimating which is directly across from the pump on the opposite side. Now it is in the middle of the tank. I redirected the PH's last night, so I will see today if they are out again.
