IME, a happy coral opens briefly after placing it in my tank. Your coral seems not opening after 3 days. Check all params before it's too late.

my params- just tested tonight....
although i didnt test mag cause its always around 1300 every time i test and i just tested a week ago

36 gal bowfront
plenty of water flo
55 3w LED at about 60%
Temperature: 78
Salinity: 1.025
KH: 9
NO2: 0
NO3:0
PO: 0
pH: 8.4
Calcium: 460

everything pretty much stays this way just doing weekly water changes so i am unsure why sps are having problems...

i temp acclimated it for about 20 mins dipped it in revive and put it in the bottom of the tank. it slimmed everything and now looks like that.

it was about 3 years old but i moved about 6-7 months ago and was forced to downgrade from my 120 to this 36 so i moved everything over except i used new sand. had a very small mini cycle and everything been stable since.

Did you do a drip acclimation? Do you know how different your water parameters are from the colony's source?

shouldn't be, i have 1 blue damsel and thats it as far as fish. ofc a clean up crew, black long spine urchin, brittle star. a few LPS and mushrooms but none of them are around it. there is no leathers that would be releasing any toxins.

Yeah not too bad just a little dry and a little retracted
Polyps just frag a piece and give it time to acclimate its not getting blasted
With flow is it?.

its been in your tank 3 days and its all encrusted like that already? in my opinion you shouldnt start with a acropora for your first SPS especially one that big. start easy with a digi or a birdsnest and if you want to try acropora get a small 2 inch frag and see how it does instead of seeing if a nice mini colony that you have lives or dies

There is a lot of flow in the tank, I have a hydor 6 I think it says it's rated at 2200 but I have it diverted so it's not got a direct flow any one spot. You think I need to frag it?

It came on a small rock piece like that and I have already started with this one so I rather not let it die if I can help it I may not buy another in the future if this one dies but untill then I'm doing what I can now. As of this morning it's still the same. No polyp extension or anything but I'm not seeing any die off either. It's day 4 should I attempt to move it midway up in the tank now or leave it sit and not bother it or any other suggestions?

acidpod, I'd probably leave it down low for a bit to let it adjust to the new lighting.

It looks like some of the polyps in the inner, protected areas are trying to extend some. I think it's probably something to do with the flow on it. Otherwise, healthy looking.

0/0 Nitrates and phospahtes plus weekly water changes??? Why? 1 damsel fish? Do you feed the corals? Maybe the water is too clean.

Only one damsel cause he killed the others and I haven't been able to catch him yet and dont want to add other fish and him kill them. I do weekly water changes because I don't run a sump or skimmer. Didn't know water could be to clean? Yes i do feed them, i spot feed everything every 2-3 days. All my lps and zoas are doing great. It's still looking about the same. I changed the flow in the tank last night to see if that helps but won't know till I get home from work and see it with the lights on

i noticed my emerald crab is hanging out on the base rock of this new acro i dont know what that means cause i never see him but maybe once every 2 weeks if im lucky! it also appears as if the tips have started to turn white a lil bit here is a updated picture
