Does salt go bad/expire?

I purchased around eight 5 gallon buckets of Reef Crystals. I'm guessing the tubs aren't air tight. The salt may be clumpy. I wouldn't think it would actually go bad, however. Unless, the salt may have absorbed external pollutants. Do you know if the manufacturer puts an expiration or manufacturer date on them. They've been in my garage for probably the last eight years.

I would mix up a batch and test parameters, specifically Alk, pH, Ca, and Mg. Possibly also test Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. If those are all good, I’d think you’d be good to use it.

Here’s another perspective

it’s all minerals but the alk and calcium can combine to form calcium carbonate.
You can tell that because it won’t dissolve when you mix it up in water
