Does this sound like a dead clam?

Sad news today.. So Tuesday I got a shipment in from LiveAquaria and one of my items was a derasa clam. I acclimated the calm just like every thing else for 1 hour, then never letting it touch air I set it in place low in my tank. I have just been running actinics for the last few days due to switching around coral and getting new inhabitants. The clam looked good withing a few hours and opened up. The mouth was closed the entire time but the mantle was out but not too far, and was not being blow over by flow. Clam was responding to shadows well as well. Last night when I took a last look before lights out and it looked good still. This morning when I checked on it the shell was open mantle retracted into the shell and the mouth and vent wide open. The shell will not shut but if I brush the tissue of the clam it reacts. I assume it is dead but wanted to make sure there is not a chance or recovery before pitching it.

May want to post this in the clam sub form, but it doesn't sound good from what you described here.
I personally would give it another day or two before chucking it, but that's me.
If it looks anything like this, it's toast most likely.

That was my clam the day after receiving a powerbomb off the top rock from the biggest turbo snail in my tank.
Sad day.. I still talk about it.

Yeah I think it's a goner then.. My water is perfect. Refrac says I'm at 1.025 calcium is a little low at 420, ph at 8.3, dkh at 9... No waste in the water.. Ugh
