so i have a 75 that im going back to salt its been cycling forever because my buddy has a store opening soon which will be the only spot i buy from not sure cause its the best or cause its free or both but anyhow. I really want to do a dogface puffer if possible i know they get larger but other than maybe some damsels for color he'll be the only guy in the tank. any ideas on this subject or maybe some other ideas for the 75 im def not doing reef never cared for it much haha

If you dont plan on a bigger tank size any time soon for the dog face puffer. Than why not go like a harlequin tusk and a snowflake eel?

There are some smaller varieties of toby puffers that might fit better in your tank.. Maybe a burr fish....not sure about the size on those though.

burr fish max at about the same size as a dogface (10-12") and it usually takes a couple years to get there....

a 75 would keep the puffer well enough for a couple years. They need filtration more than swim room...high bioload low activity fish. If he is the only tank inhabitant I'm not too worried.

BTW, a harley tusk will get just as big as the dogface and tends to be more active a swimmer.

Hope this helps....

PS snowflake eels are just too common/boring, make yellow tangs seem like peppermint angels...j/k
