dogfaced striped puffer

anyone own one of these or know anything about them. is this a good buy or a bad choice. these SWF guys hardly have any good discreptions on tank size, tank mates and bonus reading material. they have a stripped dogface puffer for sale and was looking into that one or a normal dogface. i got a 125, good cleaning system and 4 month old tank. 3 small fish as tank mates with plent of places to hide. any information on this species would be greatly appreciated

I have one, its an Arothron manilensis. Pretty peaceful especially when small. I have mine in with some bigger fish.....triggers, angels, big puffers and he hangs in there. He eats like a pig! Likes cockle, krill, mysis, brine, formula foods, ets.... 125 g seems fine for it.

awesome, is he a good character. do you think he will eat sponges. how big is your and what do you think they top out on. im guessing hes hardy then. you probably dont have hermit crabs but i do. think he shred them if hes well fed

yes pretty good character. I can almost guarantee that he will eat sponges and he will definitely try to eat your hermits. mine is about 4 inches, and i think they grow to about a foot in the wild, probably 10 inches in captivity.

I have one, about 4.5", does eat sponge, I saw it. Not hermits though, nor my soft hammer coral or anenome, or mushrooms or polyps. It is pretty tame. I read that it hits about 6" in captivity.

yeah if anyone is wondering there going for $20 at SaltWaterFish. free shipping mine is on its way. from what im hearing this will be a good purchase for my 125 and will be my only agressive fish
