Dollar per gallon?

Does anyone know when petco or petsmart does the dollar per gallon sale?

Its sometime around the end of August or the first of september. They don't even give the stores a lot of notice on when exactly it is because they don't won't people holding off their purchases waiting on it.

I dont remember which store it is, but one of those do a sale each summer. Its $1 per gallon on aquariums up to 55 gallons. So like a 20 gallon would be $20. Its nice for buying a couple frag tanks or to build sumps out of.

Did some research and last years sale ran from 8/26 to 9/2. I also would be interested in when this years sale will take place since i'm looking forward to upgrading my sump to a larger setup maybe (1) 24" x 12" x 20" 25Gal tank and a 20" x 10" x 12" 10Gal side by side or (1) 36" x 12" x 20" 38Gal tank.

I've been thinking of doing something similar. I got a 30 gallon but it isnt a long(30 inches L instead of 36) which will make things a bit cramped. I also have a tall wet/dry filter I've been thinking about making into a fuge.

Basically making the wet/dry filter into the sump for the skimmer and heater/etc and piping that to the aquarium as a fuge/return.

Does that sound feasable?

Stealth, thanks for the info. Was it Petco or Petsmart? Im just looking for a 29g for my mom. I have everything but the tank unless i give her the one i plan on using for a sump.
