Dolomite

This may be a silly question but I'd figure I ask anyway. I had dolomite for my substrate for 3-4 years till I switched to new substrate. I scooped the old one out and put in a regular tin can. Its been sitting there ever since. I want to use it in my frag tank for my frags to attach to (like mushrooms etc). Good idea or a bad idea?
Thanks!

If the rock doesn't fizz when you put vinegar on it then it shouldn't be used in a marine aquarium. Im not a geologist so Im not sure what type of rock dolomite is, Im thinking its similar to granite but I have no idea honestly. You want a calcium based rock for marine aquaria though.

dolomite is often used inside calcium reactors to supply magnesium.

it's ok to mount corals on dolomite but the best choice would probably be coral skeletons (ie: reef rubble rock)

Agree with Gary, not a bad thing, but maybe not the "best". Too bad you live far away as I have a bunch of rubble I might be looking to give away

I guess I'll pass on using it then, thanks for all the info! Once I go to ABC I will just buy some rubble rock there hopefully. Thanks again to all!
