Hi.
I just wanted to know if Dolphin pet village does trade-ins of coral for cash or store credit. I would love it if tyler could respond to this as well.

thanks

It depends on what you have and what kind of shape it is in. I really cant make any type of determination till I see the coral and then we can talk about the credit. I am very weary about taking corals from customers due to past experiences with people bringing in Red Bugs, Monti Nudies, Zoa Nudies, etc. Good thing that everything gets dipped in Lugols because I am paranoid!!

But all items coming into the store are Credit and it is not for the full retail value of the item. Price TBD after viewing.

PS. PLEASE CALL AHEAD!!! Nothing more annoying then someone showing up with this or that and wanting me to take it in. That would almost guarantee a refusal. I know what I have ordered that is either on the way or arriving the next week and I have an idea of what sells. So when someone comes in with a bucket of Kenyan Tree Coral and tells me that I need to take it ..... sorry man.

PSS. Wow I just read that and I sound like an jerk ..... I'm really not, just venting out frustration I guess.

It's a very hrad thing Tyler. I too used to get very annoyed with "drop in" trade ins. Some things require their own tank, some things you just don't keep in your store, and somethings you just won't buy. If they don't calll, and show up with a small army of full grown oscars, the asnwer is pretty obvious to me :D

Well,
This is the coral that i want to trade-in. it's a christmas favia that's about 4"x5". Just wanted to know if that would sell cause you said you knew. I understand the frustrations of running a business, so i am willing to cooperate to any degree.

That is a nice coral, however I currently have two very simlar corals in stock right now that have been here for at least a month. Maybe shoot me a PM or phone call in a few weeks, if they sell in that time we can do business.

thanks

Pufferman, you were trying to sell that a while back, right?

I still think you could frag it up and sell it as a bunch of $5 and $10 frags if no one wants the entire piece. Keep a small frag to grow out in your tank.

I'll give you a hand fragging with a diamond saw if you like.

Ok. I am finally willing to frag. Mr. Ugly, You need to help me as I have no coral propagation experience. I am available on weekends only. Please let me know how we can go about this, preferably this weekend.
